While you’re in the care of CPS, you will have a caseworker and a supervisor assigned to your case. Your caseworker will be a great support for you and will be your main contact person when you need something. Also, depending on where you live, your caregiver will be another great source and don’t forget your attorney. You should always be able to contact your attorney.
The Hay Center is a great place to start when you need help. They offer services to youth in CPS care as well as those who have aged out. Some of the services they offer include educational assistance, college tours, summer jobs, GED classes, computer lab and back to school supply drives.
The Bear room is a place where foster kids and caseworkers can go to get items of basic necessities. Caseworkers can visit any of the BEAR Rooms and complete the necessary documents to get emergency items for active CPS cases. The items in the BEAR room range from shampoo and conditioner to clothes to books and toys.
