If you age out of foster care, you qualify for free health insurance until you turn 26. You will need to apply for health insurance and follow all the steps to make sure it is done correctly.

When you call the Medicaid office make sure to ask for a “foster youth specialist.” This person will have the most accurate information to get you signed up for health insurance and other services.
Medicaid only covers medical care until you are 20 years old. After 20, you will need STAR Health. You can get more information about getting this insurance by contacting the Medicaid office.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits are available if you have a disability and are low income. Contact https://www.ssa.gov/ to see if you qualify l.
